Community and Member Guest Programs

The Stevens Point Elks Lodge is a very active Elks Lodge.  Below are listed many of the community programs and member/guest events that the Lodge conducts over the course of a year.  Refer to the Lodge calendars for the exact date of the event.

  • Valentine’s Day Couples Steak Night: This member/guest event is held the weekend before Valentine’s Day and is a romantic dinner for members and their guests.
  • Annual Rib Cook-Off: This is an annual Lodge event open to members/guests and others by invitation to allow some of our more boisterous members to brag about their rib-cooking abilities.
  • Monthly Member Steak Nights:  These Lodge events are held each month for members and their guests.  They are served one of the BEST steak dinners in Stevens Point, along with all the trimmings.  This is an extremely popular event.
  • Ladies Steak Nights:  These Lodge events are held for lady members, wives of members, and their guests.  They are served by “Dux in a Tux” (Lodge members in tuxedos) in an elegant setting.  The steaks and trimmings are prepared to perfection.  This is an extremely popular event.
  • Brat Frys:  The PER association holds brat frys at Trigs Market several times per year.  It is always fun to grab a brat or hot dog and a cold drink on a summer afternoon after grocery shopping.
  • Hoop Shoot: An event open to youth in the community to compete shooting baskets with district, state and national winners.
  • Flag Day Ceremony:  This event is open to the public and, with the participation of the Stevens Point VFW, the Lodge holds a solemn and moving observance of Flag Day.
  • Elks Family Picnic: This is an annual Lodge event for members, their families, and guests along with veterans invited to attend from King.  Bingo prizes abound and everyone has a great time!
  • Mothers Day Brunch:  This annual Lodge event is held for members and their guests on Mothers Day.  An outstanding meal is laid out and everyone enjoys the day.
  • Santa Brunch:  A “not to be missed” annual Lodge event for members, their families and guests.  Santa appears and every child in attendance is given a gift.  Scotty, the “Eggologist” is in charge of preparing his world-famous omelettes.
  • Dictionary Project:  Each year the Lodge distributes free dictionaries to 3rd grade students and their teachers in area schools.  In 2014, we delivered over 250 dictionaries to six area schools.  More information on this program can be found at www.dictionaryproject.org
  • Chili Contest:  Annually, the Lodge members and guests gather to show off their culinary skills.  We then recognize our best and “Chairmans Choice” chili’s with awards.
  • Old-Timers Recognition Dinner and Lodge Awards Ceremony:  Annually, the Lodge honors “old-timers,” members with 20 or more years of Elks membership, with a dinner at which we also hold our annual Lodge awards ceremony.
  • Christmas Basket Distribution:  In association with Operation Boot-Strap, Trigs Market and other Stevens Point businesses, the Elks Lodge members deliver over 50 baskets of commodities to needy families in Portage County.

These events are largely made possible by the dedication of a number of active and enthusiastic Lodge Members, volunteers, and members of our “extended Elks family.” To one and all, the Lodge extends its gratitude – without our members and volunteers we could not be the successful Lodge that we are.  THANK YOU!
